GO, DO

Four days ago, I lost my job. I wasn't let go and I didn't quit. The building caught fire. Being only twenty seven years old, I realized quickly I don't have too much to lose. Yesterday, I asked myself what I thought were important questions about getting my professional life back together. Should I jump right back into the industry I was working in (being a fine dining restaurant server)? Should I go back into the office arena and take on the Norman Rockwell career route? What makes me happy? What meaningful work do I want to produce in life? While I still don't have all the answers that I am looking for, I did realize that writing does bring me joy. This morning, I declared that I was going to start a blog writing about anything I wanted to. I don't know exactly what the theme is going to be. Many of the writers, comedians and thinkers I look up to- Steven Pressfield, Tim Ferriss, Joe Rogan, Marc Marron, Seth Godin to name a few- all preach just sitting down and just doing the work. It doesn't matter what it is and as long as you show up everyday, things will come.

So here it is.

This is my first entry. Take it for what it is.
